Diary of a Wimpy Kid/The Long Haul (by: Jeff Kinney)

Are you a fan of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series? Were you once a fan or know someone who's a fan? I really liked the series back when I was I elementary school. I have always loved to read, and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series was like a "fun" read for me whenever I had even just a little bit of time. Something about the humor and enjoyment of the book always made me laugh and feel happy. I remember that I even went to see the movie of the 1st book!

After elementary school, I sort of stopped reading the series. Perhaps it's because it got way out of my reading level, or I just lost interest- I don't know. I started reading more longer and complex books like the Heroes of Olympus series and the Divergent trilogy. A couple of days ago, my brother bought The Long Haul, which if you don't already know, is the latest book in the series. I had heard lots of good reviews about it, and after y brother said it was very good, I decided to read it! Let's just say... I really liked it! I probably laughed like a million times at all the funny and crazy parts, and realized that it's nice to go back to what you used to read before every once in a while. :)

I'll give you a little grabber/plot summary of the book if you haven't read or heard about it yet:

The Heffley's are off on a family vacation! With almost every detail of the trop planned by Greg's mom, the family has nothing to do but follow what she says. The trip starts out pretty okay, until things start getting crazier and crazier. the Heffley's need to come together and work as a family to sort everything out and find a way to turn the trip into a memorable adventure.

This is an awesome book with many funny moments and positive messages on the true meaning of family. I would recommend this book to readers in elementary and middle school, and would give it a rating of 5/5 stars!
